There are big systemic issues out there but it seems people are missing media and how it can radicalize and change people.

All these things may set the conditions but media is like the gun pulling the trigger.

My friend, Jen Senko, produced a documentary called The Brainwashing of My Dad. It chronicles the changes in her dads personality and outlook when he changed his media consumption. It is something that people all over the country has experienced AND THIS WAS BEFORE SOCIAL MEDIA.

There is a lot to this when it comes to media -- like perverse incentives. There is little downside to lying or exaggerating in the news -- to get ratings.

But please don't over look this.

You are looking at the big picture but media is what is driving so much of us a part.
